Report from Future Times

Report from Future Times is a speculative provocation on the role of art, design and our cultural institutions in massive social change. The text takes the form of a report by an unnamed source speaking to us from the future, outlining the contours of a world transformed by artists and designers and how it came to be.

This piece was originally commissioned by Oliver Hockenhull for A House Made of Dawn: The Sublime Horizon of the Digital Arts as the Concluding Formation of the Information Civilization. The essay was published in a special sci-fi issue of subTerrain in 2020. In early 2021 it was integrated into the online book of the same name. sublimehorizons.ca
